Alvaro Monteverdi, the youngest son of a family which had emigrated to South America in the 18th C,
came to England at the start of the 20th C and learned his intricate craft from the hands of a Master Clockmaker.
He founded his own company - Alvaro Monteverdi.
At the end of the Second World War his business was destroyed
and the demand for elegant watches barely existed.
In the middle of the 1970s he passed on his business to his two sons who continued the business
under the original name, until it was bought by a foreign entrepreneur, who to this day is still close to the Monteverdi family.
The entrepreneur continues to manage the company successfully,
true to the exacting requirements
of the founder, Alvaro Monteverdi.
Alvaro Monteverdi represents elegant gentlemen's watches, the finest watchmaking technology,
precise self-winding mechanisms.
In short, "Gentlemen's Equipment“ of the highest standard and British understatement.
